Projects
BOAG is often approached by farmers and landowners who are keen to promote wildlife conservation through schemes such as Higher Level Stewardship. Farms with hay meadows, wet pasture, young tree plantations and field margins are helping to create good barn owl habitat and by installing a barn owl nest box may encourage barn owls to the area.
BOAG has also received funding from organisations and charities looking to invest in conservation projects. BOAG has worked with the Environment Agency to install 40 barn owl nest boxes on farmland along river corridors in Staffordshire.

Funding not only enables BOAG to install nest boxes in areas of prime barn owl habitat but has also given BOAG the opportunity to experiment with nest box design and materials to help improve nest box accommodation for the barn owl.
BOAG has received funding from the Alice Noake's Memorial Charity Trust to build experimental nest boxes constructed from recycled plastic sheets and designed to be more durable and weather resistant. The experimental nest boxes were installed in late 2013 and over 2014 and are under trial.

BOAG has worked with Parish Councils and Rotary Clubs who have funded the installation of barn owl nest boxes in rural locations and BOAG has also worked alongside Youth Rangers and Rodbaston College to help build barn owl nest boxes for conservation projects. Dove Valley Farm has supported BOAG for a number of years and BOAG is also generously supported by individuals who give financial donations and sometimes supply home-made nest boxes which we are able to site at suitable locations.
