Nest Boxes
BOAG is a small group of volunteers affiliated with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust who build, install and monitor nest boxes across Staffordshire. They are trained to safely climb ladders and trees and hold Schedule 1 disturbance licences to monitor barn owls especially during the breeding season.
A suggested donation of £50 for a box and £20 for installation will help sustain the group to buy the materials to build more nest boxes and help conserve the barn owl.

BOAG has now installed over 400 barn owl nest boxes across Staffordshire creating successful roost and nest sites for barn owls. Ideally the boxes are located in areas which provide good habitat for barn owls such as hay meadows, areas of rough grassland, wet pasture, young tree plantations and along river corridors. Boxes are installed in mature, isolated trees and in old barns and buildings. BOAG prefers not to site boxes close to busy footpaths to avoid disturbance or within 1 mile of a dual carriageway, motorway, busy road or rail line.
